Calculators A budget calculator is a tool used to determine eligibility for public
benefits. These calculators process information about income only, they
do not include eligibility for residency, citizenship/immigration status,
or resource criteria. If you want information about these criteria, refer
to the appropriate section in the PBRC Manual or contact PBRC staff above
under Contact Us. Determining countable income for benefit eligibility can include complicated calculations. These calculators incorporate basic income budgeting and deeming formulas, they do not cover rules for complicated and unique household circumstances. In addition, these calculators capture only the current month of eligibility. If projected amounts vary from official results, please call PBRC for further assistance. What to Expect You will answer a series of questions regarding the applicant's household composition and monthly income for each household member. Based on the information you input, the calculator will project the applying member's income eligibility for that benefit. There are definitions provided throughout to guide you in the process. It is important you click on these definitions because they have pertinent information regarding how to answer the questions correctly. Simply click on a highlighted word for the definition. Before You Start Make sure you have the necessary information for the household, including information on income from earnings, unearned income and in-kind income.
